Classic, amazing landscape. I love the distance and space created by all the light and dark thresholds. I will have to work this into my Road Noise series. Soaring to new heights in a hot air balloon led to my fascination of painting from a bird’s eye view in my Mountains series. Cultures across the span of history have gravitated to the mountains for peace and clarity, as do I. “First Snow”, 40″x 40″, oil on aluminum, $5600 “Shady Stars”, 21″ x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold “Connor’s Ride” 14″ x 14″, oil on linen, $600 Road to Milford Sound, New Zealand Dreamscape, oil on aluminum panel, 51″ x 39″, $7250. “Salt Lake Sky”, 20″ x 30″, oil on linen, $1800 Sundance in Summer, oil on linen, 32″ x 26″, $2900 Snakes and Snails Falling Up, Oil on a brushed aluminum panel, 16″x 16″, $975 “Blue Horizon”, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″ $975 Dreamscape, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, 27″ x 27″, Sold Trent Call’s Singer with her Band Train to Seville, 18 x 24, oil on linen Twisted Web, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Jellyfish Sky, 16″ x 12″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $975 Lauren’s Rose, 38″ x 48″,Acrylic on recycled, distressed board, $6400, Snowbird. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Into the Storm”, 39″ x 51″, oil on steel, Sold “Pony Marsh”, 12″ x 12″, oil on canvas, Sold Lava Road, 36″ x 51″ Oil on steel, $6400 Downstream, Hope Creek, oil on canvas, 21″ x 21″, $1350 Wasatch Back, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, Sold “First Snow”, 40″ x 40″, Oil on steel, $5600 Open Wide and say Ahhhh Hotel Elfonso XIII, Seville, 18 x 24″ oil on canvas Silver Road, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 39″, Sold “Day is Done”, oil on brushed aluminum, 15″ x 19″, $975 Trent Call’s Tweety Bird with Mining Carts “Calm Before the Storm”, oil on aluminum, 17″ x 19″, $1000 Twilight 48th Street, oil on canvas, 18″ x 24″, $1300 Otherworldly Places Silvery Moon, Triptych, 48″ x 100″, oil on aluminum, Sold Snæfellsjökull National Park, Snæfellsbær, Western Iceland, Iceland Agnes Drecoll, French 1931-63 “Red Sky at Night”, 24″ x 24″, oil on linen, $1700 California Sunshine Lava Road, 36″ x 51″ Oil on steel, $6400 in a Park City home.
