Home from Deer Valley, 24″x24″ sold I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Going Home”, 13″ x 15″, oil on canvas, $725 A Giant’s View, 24″ x 36″ Dreamscape, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, 27″ x 27″, Sold “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Midway, 16″ x 20″ Oil on canvas. “Shady Stars”, 21″ x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold “Silver Meadow”, 24″ x 36″, oil on steel, $2600 Murdock Peak – Altitude, 9602’ Southold Beach, 20″ x 20, $1400 The Road Less Traveled, oil on canvas 36″ x 72″, $7800 Hungry Peonies Devouring Berries Icy Twilight, Oil paint on brushed aluminum, 16″ x 16″,$975 Cynthia & Tom 2019 “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Salt Lake City, 19″ x 34″, oil on linen $1900 Tannery Row, 8″ x 8″ unframed, oil on canvas, $225, Utah Trent Call’s Skiers enjoying the challenge. “Lava Fields” in a Park City home.
