It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born.
