Lava Road, 36″ x 51″ Oil on steel, $5500 Aspen Eyes I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Weeping Sky”, oil on aluminum, 51″ x 39″, Sold Surreal Monster Flowers Cynthia at PCR! “Metamorphosis”, acrylic spray paint on steel, 39″ x 51″, $6000 Stillness in Motion, Oil on white aluminum panel, 51″ x 51″, Delphinium, acrylic on steel, 51″ x 39″, $7250 The Sound of Twilight, (Diptych panel), oil on aluminum, 19 x 51,(each panel), (46″ x 51′ side by side), Sold “Full Tilt-Vertical”, Oil on brushed aluminum panel, 51″ x 39″, SOLD Playful Orange, 36″ x 48″ “Slide”, 23″ x 23″ oil on aluminum, Sold “Summer Storm”, 15.5″ x 19.5″, etching ink on paper, $975 Moon over the NJ Shore #1 Mouth of the Gorge, Dart River, New Zealand “Frost”, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Lauren’s Rose, 38″ x 46″ “Heber Barn”, 14″ x 14″, oil on canvas, $600 Desert Highway, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, Sold Icy View from Saugatuck Bridge “Grey Sky at the Beach”, 8″ x 8″, oil on wood panel, $200 “Connor’s Ride”, 12 x 12, oil on linen, $600 “Silver Lake”, 39″ x 27″, Oil on steel, $3700 Ribbons of Blue, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″, SOLD California Sunshine Shadow Woman – Patriot, oil on aluminum, 27″ x 27″, $2250 Surreal Wave, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Gallery wall detail of Celestial Rhapsody and my sunset paintings!
