Early Morning Flight, Oil on an aluminum panel, 16x 16, $975 Summer Storm Shadow, 15.5″ x 19.5″ etching ink on paper, $975 I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Indigo Rain”, oil on brushed aluminum, 15″ x 19″, Sold “Silver Lining” in a San Francisco Bay area home. “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 51″ x 39″, $6900 “right-beside-me,” oil painting by Carol O’Malia Manley Beach, Australia Winter Beach #1, Oil on canvas, 14″ x 18″, $900 Mindfulness Accobonac Harbor, 18″ x 24″, oil on line, $1300 Mountain Triptych, panel 2 of 3, 24″ x 48″, Oil on aluminum, $7000 Lava Road, 36″ x 51″, oil on steel, $6400 “Silver Lake”, 39″ x 27″, Oil on steel, $3700 Early Morning Flight, Oil on an aluminum panel, 16″x 16″, $975 “First Snow”, 40″ x 40″, Oil on steel, $5600 “Full Tilt”, 37″ x 39″, oil on aluminum, $5100 “Pony Marsh”, 12″ x 12″, oil on canvas, Sold Firestorm, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, Sold Misty Ridgeline, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″ $2500 Frost, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 “Heber Barn”, 14″ x 14″, oil on canvas, $600 “View from Partrick Bridge 2″, Oil on steel, 29″ x 42”. $3700 “Fairy Flower”, 36″ x 48″, acrylic on canvas, $7300 “Channeling Blue over Grey””, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Western Dreams, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 27 x 27 $2750.
