It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Fairy Flower”, 36″ x 48″, acrylic on canvas, $7300 Reykjavík, Iceland Silver Road, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 39″, Sold “Going Home”, 13″ x 15″, oil on canvas, $725 Winter Beach #1, Oil on canvas, 14″ x 18″, $900 “Carmen”, 39″ x 51″, acrylic spray paint on steel, $7250 Devils Den, 25″ x 29″ oil on natural linen, $2500 “Beaver Creek Trail”, 21″ x 22″, oil on steel, $1400 “Matrix”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Snæfellsjökull National Park, Snæfellsbær, Western Iceland, Iceland Trent Call’s Film Maker Train to Seville, framed, Oil on canvas, 12″ x 14″ $550 Mountain Triptych, panel 3 of 3, 24″ x 48″, Oil on aluminum “Sherwood Inverted”, 24″ x 36″, oil on steel, $2400 framed “Channeling Blue over Grey””, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Carmel Trees, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 27″ x 27″, $2500 Violet Iris, 36″ x 48″, acrylic on steel-$650, California Beautiful arial shot of Miami Beach, Florida “Metamorphosis”, acrylic spray paint on steel, 39″ x 51″, $6000 Hotel Elfonso XIII, Seville, 18 x 24″ oil on canvas Mountain Rain, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 19″ x 15″, $975 Autumn Wind by Hung Liu, Crystal Bridges Late Afternoon, 48″ x 60″ Base painting on the easel. “Tuileries”, oil on linen, 24″ x 24″ $1700 “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Sidewinder, oil on brushed aluminum, 39″ x 39″, $5300 Lauren’s Rose, 38″ x 46″ Carmen, acrylic on steel, 39″ x 51″,$7250 Delphinium, $7250, in a NYC apartment. “Tuileries”, oil on linen, 24″ x 24″ $1700 “Three Penny Opera, a new acquisition, 2018! Jamian Juliano-Villani, a contemporary painter who mixes art historical, fashion and pop culture references to create humorous representations of our materialistic era. Her work addresses the changed nature of everyday life in the age of the internet-the dizzying juxtaposition of images, styles, and identities in the media-amid the dissolution of such long-established standards as “authorship” and copyright.” Malieficent Metamorphosis “Sherwood Inverted”, 25″ x 37″, oil on steel. Soaring to new heights in a hot air balloon led to my fascination of painting from a bird’s eye view in my Mountains series.
