At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Sky Scrapers”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 “Whispers”, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 51″, $6900 “Sherwood Inverted”, 25″ x 37″, oil on steel, $3300 Lady Fingers LA Sky, 27″ x 27″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $2250 Floating Flora Bleeding Poppy, 16″x 16″ Twisted Web, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Delphinium, acrylic on steel, 51″ x 39″, $7250 Delphinium, acrylic on steel, 51″ x 39″, $7250 Snæfellsjökull National Park, Snæfellsbær, Western Iceland, Iceland “Whispers”, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 51″, $6900 Outside entrance to the Eduardo Lira Art Gallery for the Miami 2.0 Artbox Show 2019! “Red Sky at Night”, 24″ x 24″, oil on metal Sherwood Salt Marsh, 23″ x 29″, Oil on canvas, $1900, Fairfield Beach, 24″x 36″, oil on steel, sold Carmel by the Sea, 27″ x 27″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $2500 “Vertigo 2”, 30 x 60, metalic acrylic, mixed medium on canvas, $6300 Trent Call’s Skiers enjoying the challenge. “Vertigo”, 24″ x 36″, oil on steel, Sold “Pony Marsh #2, 11” x 14″+ frame, Sold Firestorm, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 71” x 52”, $13,500 Celestial Rhapsody, oil on a brushed aluminum panel, 99″ x 51″, Sold Ridgelines, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, Sold Silver Road, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 39″, $5300 Overton’s Marie Cutoli -French Rob Wynne, 2017, a newish acquisition, a whole series on poured mirrored glass.
