Jamian Juliano-Villani, a contemporary painter who mixes art historical, fashion and pop culture references to create humorous representations of our materialistic era. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top.
