Sundance in Summer, oil on linen, 32″ x 26″, $2900 Trent Call’s Coaster Rider I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Fairy Flower”, 36″ x 48″, acrylic on canvas, $7300 Home from Deer Valley, 24″x24″ sold “Beaver Creek Trail”, 21″ x 22″, oil on steel, $1400 Southold Beach, 20″ x 20, $1400 Clair McCardell, American, 1929-38, 1940-58 Agnes Drecoll, French 1931-63 “Going Home”, 13″ x 15″, oil on canvas, $725 Summer’s Twilight, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x19″, $1250 I really love the abstract quality of the shadow on the wall in this one. “Spiraling Flora” in a Deer Valley home. “First Snow”, 40″ x 40″, Oil on steel, $5600 Silver Horizon, oil on aluminum,15″ x 19″, Sold Sunlit Poppy Underpass, Into the Light, oil on brushed aluminum. 39″ x 39″, $5300 First Thaw, oil on canvas, 16″ x16″ framed. “Full Tilt-Vertical”, Oil on brushed aluminum panel, 51″ x 39″, SOLD Going Up Treasure Hollow, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 33″,$2900 Downstream, Hope Creek, oil on canvas, 21″ x 21″, $1350 Desert Highway, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, Sold Surreal Wave, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Delphinium, in a room.
