At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Vertigo”, 24″ x 36″, oil on steel, Sold Amoeba Flora “Blue Horizon”, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″ $975 Red Truck, (in progress), 27 x 33, oil on brushed aluminum, $3100 “Matrix”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Sheffield Island, 24″ x 36″ Sold Mountain Triptych, panel 2 of 3, 24″ x 48″, Oil on aluminum, $7000 Dancing Pine, oil on canvas, 10″ x 12″, $425 Manley Beach Sunset, Australia Athos, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, 15″ x 15″, $800 Tungubakkar, Reykjavík, Iceland Wim Botha, 21c, Crystal Bridges Trip, Bentonville Winter Beach #1, Oil on canvas, 14″ x 18″, $900 Summer Storm, 24″ x 36″ unframed, Oil on canvas, Sold “Carmen”, 39″ x 51″, acrylic spray paint on steel, $7250 “Matrix”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Mountain Triptych in a Park City Home (Promontory). “Pony Marsh”, 12″ x 12″, oil on canvas, Sold Misty Ridgeline, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″ $2500 Delphinium, $7250, in a NYC apartment. “Aqua Shots”, 21″x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Silver Road, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 39″, $5300 Grandeur, oil on a brushed aluminum panel, 39″ x 51″, Sold Awakening, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″, SOLD Home from Deer Valley, 24″x24″ sold Frost, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Firestorm, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 71” x 52”, $13,500 Silver Horizon, oil on aluminum,15″ x 19″, Sold Moonlight on the Sound, oil on steel, 35 x 38, $2900 “Aqua Shots”, 21″x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold Dart River, New Zealand “Heber Barn”, 14″ x 14″, oil on canvas, $600 Richard Hambleton, $75,000 Bleeding Poppy, 16″x 16″ Trent Call’s Pussy Cat Agnes Drecoll, French 1931-63 The Road Less Traveled, oil on canvas 36″ x 72″, $7800 Shine On, 19″ x 38″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $2200 Downstream, Hope Creek, oil on canvas, 21″ x 21″, $1350 Transcendental Dreams, oil on aluminum, 39” x 27”, $3600 per panel. “Pony Marsh #2, 11” x 14″+ frame, Sold Ode to Dr. Suess Whitecaps, oil on brushed aluminum 19″ x 15″, $975 Overton’s, 24″ x 36″, Oil on aluminum Contrasts, 12″ x 12″ Sold “Into the Storm”, 39″ x 51″, oil on steel, Sold Under Construction.
