It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 51″ x 39″, $6900 “Salt Lake Sky”, 20″ x 30″, oil on linen, $1800 “Silver Lake”, 39″ x 27″, Oil on steel, $3700 Twilight’s Embrace, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 27”x 27”, $2750 Overton’s, 24″ x 36″, Oil on aluminum “First Snow”, 40″x 40″, oil on aluminum, $5600 “Vertigo 2”, 30 x 60, metalic acrylic, mixed medium on canvas, $6300 Overton’s “Full Tilt”, 37″ x 39″, oil on aluminum, $5100 Lava Road, 36″ x 51″ Oil on steel, $6400 Jellyfish Sky, 16″ x 12″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $975 Big Red, acrylic on steel, 39″ x 51″, $72500 Bleeding Poppy, 16″x 16″ View From The Shed, 20″ x 24″ + frame, Sold Western Dreams, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 27 x 27 $2750. 3rd Floor Mural at China Bridge, Park City 2018 View From The Shed, 20″ x 24″ + frame, Sold Carmel by the Sea, 27″ x 27″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $2500 Promontory Home Installation, Park City, Utah!
