At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Fairy Flower”, 36″ x 48″, acrylic on canvas, $7300 “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Silver Road, oil on aluminum, 39″ x 39″, Sold Tannery Row, 8″ x 8″ unframed, oil on canvas, $225, Utah Moonbeams, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 19″ x 15″, $975 Icy View from Saugatuck Bridge Gallery wall detail of Celestial Rhapsody and my sunset paintings! “Full Tilt”, 37″ x 39″, oil on aluminum, $5100 “Grey Sky at the Beach”, 8″ x 8″, oil on wood panel, $200 Pestilence arrives in NYC Trent Call’s Skateboarder Hotel Elfonso XIII, Seville, 18 x 24″ oil on canvas Spring Thaw, oil on a brushed aluminum panel, 39″ x 39″, $5300 Sheffield Island, 24″ x 36″ Sold Soft Pink, 36″ x 48″ Avalanche, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 19″ x 15″, $975 Smith Barn, Oil on canvas, 11″ x 14″, $550 Eya- og Miklaholtshreppur, Western Iceland “Matrix”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Lava Road, 36″ x 51″ Oil on steel, $6400 Sherwood Salt Marsh, 23″ x 29″, Oil on canvas, $1900, Red Truck, (in progress), 27 x 33, oil on brushed aluminum, $3100 Delphinium, acrylic on steel, 51″ x 39″, $7250 Image Info Dimensions 1,920 × 2,560 Name img_3847-scaled-1.jpg Mime Type image/jpeg Type JPG Size 194.05 KB
