At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Pony Marsh #2, 11” x 14″+ frame, Sold Floating Flora The Road Less Traveled, oil on canvas 36″ x 72″, $7800 Grundarfjarðarbær, Western Iceland, Iceland Creeping Arachnids A Giant’s View, 24″ x 36″ Moth-flower Aglow “Sherwood Inverted”, 25″ x 37″, oil on steel. “Spotlights” in The ArtBox Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland Neon Rose, 36″ x 48″ unframed, Acrylic on steel, $350, California “Wildflower Meadow”, 24″ x 36″, oil on steel, $500 framed Twisted Web, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 39″ x 51″, $6900 “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 51″ x 39″, $6900 Going Up Fairfield Beach, 24″x 36″, oil on steel, sold Twilight’s Embrace, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 27”x 27”, $2750 “Connor’s Ride”, 12 x 12, oil on linen, $600 Kings Highway North, Oil on steel, 40″ x 30″, $3600 Wim Botha, 21c, Crystal Bridges Trip, Bentonville Kings Highway North, Oil on steel, 40″ x 30″, $3600 Safe Passage, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, $4100 The Road Less Traveled, oil on canvas 36″ x 72″, $7800 Mountain Triptych, panel 2 of 3, 24″ x 48″, Oil on aluminum, $7000 “Connor’s Ride” 14″ x 14″, oil on linen, $600 “Blue Horizon”, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″ $975 “Summer Storm”, 15.5″ x 19.5″, etching ink on paper, $975 “Early Morning Road to JFK”, 16″ x 35″, oil on steel, Sold Late Afternoon, 48″ x 60″ Georgiana, oil on canvas, 10″ x 12″, $425 “Devil’s Den”, 30″ x 34″, oil on natural linen, $3000 Elizabeth Hawes, American 1928-40 Clair McCardell, American, 1929-38, 1940-58 Midway, 16″ x 20″ Oil on canvas.
