Surreal Monster Flowers Sherwood Island, Winter Beach, oil on canvas, 18″ x 18″,$1100 I became obsessed with Street Art on the platform of the LIRR. It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Spotlights” in The ArtBox Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland Silver Beach, 12″ x 16″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $975 Summer Storm, 24″ x 36″ unframed, Oil on canvas, Sold Hotel Elfonso XIII, Seville, 18 x 24″ oil on canvas “First Snow”, 40″ x 40″, Oil on steel, $5600 “Butterfly Wings”, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″, $2500 Creeping Arachnids Dancing Sky, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 29 x 29, $2750. “Pony Marsh”, 12″ x 12″, oil on canvas, Sold “Crevice”, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, $6900 “Sherwood Inverted”, 25″ x 37″, oil on steel, $3300 Arts and Crafts Flora Japanese Maples, oil on linen, 23″ x 23″, $1600 Back Porch View, Tannery Road, oil on canvas, 18″ x 20″, $1100 “Into the Storm”, 39″ x 51″, oil on steel, Sold “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Spokes Vines above Trent Call’s Skiers enjoying the challenge. “Summer Storm”, 15.5″ x 19.5″, etching ink on paper, $975 Sunlit Poppy Miami Art Show at the Eduardo Lira Art Gallery2075 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127 Smith Barn, Oil on canvas, 11″ x 14″, $550 Shine On, 19″ x 38″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $2200 “Matrix”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Home from Deer Valley, 24″x24″ sold “Spiraling Flora” in a Deer Valley home.
