It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “First Snow”, 40″ x 40″, Oil on steel, $5600 No Boundaries, oil on aluminum, 27″ x 27″, $2500 “Carmen”, 40″ x 52″, acrylic spray paint on steel, $7250 “Crevice”, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, $6900 “Spiraling Fauna”, 39″ x 51″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold “Aerial Blush”, oil on aluminum, 15″ x 19″, $975 Early Morning Flight, Oil on an aluminum panel, 16″x 16″, $975 Delphinium, acrylic on steel, 51″ x 39″, $7250 “Summer Storm”, 15.5″ x 19.5″, etching ink on paper, $975 Surreal Monster Flowers “Spiraling Flora” in a Deer Valley home. “Big Red”, 39″ x 51″, acrylic spray paint on steel, $7250 “Crevice”, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, $6900 Mountain Triptych, panel 3 of 3, 24″ x 48″, Oil on aluminum Late Afternoon, 48″ x 60″ “Summer Storm”, 15.5″ x 19.5″, etching ink on paper, $975 January Eye Shine On, 19″ x 38″, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, $2200 Inside the Eduardo Lira Art Gallery for the Miami 2.0 Artbox Show 2019! “Acid Test”, oil on brushed aluminum, 15″ x 15″, $800 Trent Call’s Running Guy Georgiana, oil on canvas, 10″ x 12″, $425 “Silver Lake”, 39″ x 27″, Oil on steel, $3700 “Aqua Shots”, 21″x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Carmen, acrylic on steel, 39″ x 51″,$7250 “Going Home”, 13″ x 15″, oil on canvas, $725 “Channeling Blue over Grey””, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD “Early Morning Road to JFK”, 16″ x 35″, oil on steel, Sold “Electrical Storm”, 19″ x 38″, oil on aluminum, $2200 Kings Highway North, Oil on steel, 40″ x 30″, $3600 Going Up Ridgelines, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, Sold “Day is Done”, oil on brushed aluminum, 15″ x 19″, $975 Wasatch Back, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, Sold “Matrix”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Solar Reveal, 42″ x 54″ oil on steel, Sold Transcendental Dreams, oil on aluminum, 39” x 27”, $3600 per panel.
