It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 39″ x 51″, $6900 “Shady Stars”, 21″ x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold Moth Eaten Bachelor Buttons “Tidal Pool”, 24″x24″, oil on linen, $1700 “Grounded”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Tannery Row, 8″ x 8″ unframed, oil on canvas, $225, Utah Georgiana, oil on canvas, 10″ x 12″, $425 Ribbons of Blue, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″, SOLD Westport, oil on canvas, 12″ x 12″, $400 “Plaza Mayor”, 14″ x 14″ oil on canvas, $600 Downstream, Hope Creek, oil on canvas, 21″ x 21″, $1350 Overton’s, 24″ x 36″, Oil on aluminum “Switchbacks” , oil on brushed aluminum, 40″ x 40″, $5600 Celestial Rhapsody installed with my sunset series in this incredible New Mexico home. “Sherwood Inverted”, 25″ x 37″, oil on steel. “Connor’s Ride” 14″ x 14″, oil on linen, $600 Georgiana, 10″ x 12″, oil on canvas, $400 Wasatch Back, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 51″, Sold Early Morning Flight, Oil on an aluminum panel, 16″x 16″, $975 “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Wasatch Fog, oil on white aluminum, 23″ x 23″, $1700 Surreal Parade Lakeside View Frost, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 “Silver Falls”, 40″x 40″, Oil on steel, Sold “Into the Storm”, 39″ x 51″, oil on steel, Sold Beautiful arial shot of Miami Beach, Florida First Thaw, oil on canvas, 16″ x16″ framed. “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 39″ x 51″, $6900 Pestilence arrives in NYC Dreamscape, oil paint on a brushed aluminum panel, 27″ x 27″, Sold Work in progress “Crevice”, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, $6900 “Electrical Storm”, 19″ x 38″, oil on aluminum, $2200 Vortex Shadow Woman – Patriot, oil on brushed aluminum, 27″ x 27″, $2250 Murdock Peak – Altitude, 9602’ Mountain Triptych, all panels, 48″ x 96″, Oil on aluminum, $7400 Train to Seville, framed, Oil on canvas, 12″ x 14″ $550 “Spiraling Flora” in a Deer Valley home.
