It was mid-afternoon, no one was there, and I wasn’t sure I was in the right place to go into Manhattan. A man approached and we started talking. He was “Solus” a street artist from Dublin Ireland who was in town to work with “The Bushwick Collective” on the murals in Brooklyn. This was a few years ago, before it became super popular. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. He was telling me about the murals he had planned for some walls in Manhattan and that he was invited to participate in “Art Basel” in Miami. At this point I thought he was telling some tall tales so when I got on the train I googled him. It was all true. I investigated the Bushwick Collective and my love of Street Art was born. Interpreting flowers in spray paint brings a modern edge to a traditional subject. The veils of color create softness and new colors, blending the edges and building a rich hue on the flat surface of the silver steel. In this piece, I experimented with masking, using cut out curves and edges to shield the panel while layering colors on top. “Carmen”, 39″ x 51″, acrylic spray paint on steel, $7250 Earth Day Clean Up, before… Lava Road, 36″ x 51″ Oil on steel, $5500 Ridgelines, oil on aluminum, 40″ x 52″, Sold Open Wide and say Ahhhh Moon over the NJ Shore #1 “Shady Stars”, 21″ x 21″, acrylic spray paint on steel, Sold “Big Red”, 40″ x 52″, acrylic spray paint on steel, $7250 Sundance in Summer, oil on linen, 32″ x 26″, $2900 January Eye Off Trail in Park City, Oil on canvas, 13″ x 16″ , $700 Icy View from Saugatuck Bridge September, 39 x 51, oil on brushed aluminum panel, $6900 Break in the Storm, oil on brushed aluminum panel, 27″ x 27″ Mountain Triptych, all panels, 48″ x 96″, Oil on aluminum, $7400 “Wildflower Meadow”, 24″ x 36″, oil on steel, $500 framed “Fairy Flower”, 36″ x 48″, acrylic on canvas, $7300 “Half Moon Bay”, 24″ x 24″,oil on linen, $1700 Twilight 48th Street, oil on canvas, 18″ x 24″, $1300 “Plaza Mayor”, 14″ x 14″ oil on canvas, $600 Winter Beach #2, Oil on canvas, 14″ x 18″, $900 “Skating on the Bridge”, 51″ x 51″, oil on aluminum panel, Sold “Tuileries”, oil on linen, 24″ x 24″ $1700 “Heber Barn”, 14″ x 14″, oil on canvas, $600 “Grounded”, oil on brushed aluminum, 19″ x 15″, SOLD Georgiana, oil on canvas, 10″ x 12″, $425 Manley Beach, Australia Biba, Barbara Hulanicky Mouth of the Gorge, Dart River, New Zealand “View from Partrick Bridge 2″, Oil on steel, 29″ x 42”. $3700 Japanese Maples, oil on linen, 23″ x 23″, $1600 “Midnight Ride”, oil on brushed aluminum, 51″ x 39″, $6900 “Frost”, oil on aluminum, 19″ x 15″, $975 Mountain Triptych, panel 2 of 3, 24″ x 48″, Oil on aluminum, $7000 Late Afternoon Helgafellssveit, Western Iceland, Iceland “Silver Lake” A work in progress in Cynthia’s studio.
