I took a series of photos of Kaleidoscope in progress so you can see how I build a painting. I wanted to do a traditional landscape in psychedelic colors. I used oil paints with a a good amount of alkyd oil and finished off the texture with the acid green oil stick. My favorite part of this painting is the little patch of purple trees just above the road barrier on the left. The color really pops largely due to the colors surrounding it. The road reflects the mountain behind it with a series of washes.
