Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and art filled New Year! As 2024 came to a close I could not help but feel grateful for the support and community that fuel my work. Looking forward into 2025, I am excited to share all the experiences that will help me grow in my creativity and look forward to including you all in my journey!
I started this month having fun and learning a great deal about the issues involved in renovating a farmhouse originally built in the 1880’s. I am not sure yet if I will pull the trigger but I am getting closer to a decision. This place is really a wreck. Everything is wrong with it except it is a lovely location on a beautiful little creek in Upstate NY. It is very bucolic and peaceful. I am getting estimates to see if the numbers work. The only way I see this happening now is if they will agree to a new and much lower price. I know many of my followers have antique homes, I would love to hear of your best/worst scenarios! Leave me comments below!
While I am in NY I hope to meet a few new folks in person that I have been chatting with about the art and design industries, go to some art openings and new galleries, then I fly back to Park City for some painting, ski time and the Sundance Film Festival! Check out the movies and lmk what you think I should see!
Mark your calendars for February 28th/March 1st as I will be the “Featured Artist” and painting live in The Summit Gallery for the Park City Gallery Stroll!
On March 5th, I will be live painting at the National Ability Center’s Wine Collectors Dinner that raises funds for the NAC. Let me know if you plan to go, I would love to see some familiar faces at this event. They have a very special evening planned in the Pendry’s ballroom. The painting I start that night will be included in their silent auction on March 8th. You can register now for the auction here. It is a great cause and 100% of the winning bid goes to support the NAC!
Please join me for these wonderful events and bring your friends!
At the end of March I am going to the northern coast of Wales for a photograph workshop to learn ICM, or Intentional Camera Movement from photographer Shona Perkins. I have followed a few artists for some time now that use this technique and decided it was time to try something new to see things in a different way.
I have backed off of doing a lot of art shows to spend more time painting and developing an idea I have for a solo show. I have applied to an artist residency to get time away to really focus and develop that concept and will probably apply to a few more as they are generally hard to get into. Again, wish me luck!
The undercurrent for this whole year will be developing best practices for the ever-changing social media world. I would invite you to help me by following me on Instagram, (I always post my latest works there first), and sharing them with all your followers, encouraging them to follow me as well. Numbers are important to get the algorithm to see you.
It is rounding out to be a year full of art, growth and development for me and I am super excited. Please come along for the ride, it will be a great New Year!
