Switchbacks

I have been working on making my road compositions more dynamic by tilting the horizon line and warping the perspective, just a bit, kind of like when you lean into a curve when you’re on a bike.  There is a great drive through the pass to get from Park City down to Salt Lake City on I-80, curving all over the place.  It is very beautiful in the morning when the sun shines brightly, warming the rock face which contrasts with the dramatic shadows on the opposite side. This one took a while, working out the details in a warmer color palette.
