I decided to add a new page to my website, called “Road Noise.” Check it out!
There is a technique I enjoy using with oil paint that yields a wonderful illuminating quality by removing the paint. I can get a really bright white or tint, much more so than just adding white paint which tends to sap the light from the colors and dull the painting. It works especially well with night scenes with neon-type lights. For some reason, many of the paintings I have done with this technique have roads in them, hence the title of the new page!

The road was empty except for the blend of energy of the people who had traveled it. It was a mixture of joy and worry, a noise that had no sound.
Love this one, Cynthia
