Take a Breath

When I was a kid we would vacation in Florida during Easter break from school. I loved being in or near the water, still do. Jumping the ocean waves, body surfing, playing games in the pool and especially climbing all over my dad and having him throw us up into the air to come back to the water with a giant splash, that was the most fun! I would practice holding my breath to see how long I could stay at the bottom of the pool. This painting was inspired by that memory, taking a giant breath and staying underwater as long as I could.
