Serenity

After I painted Mystique, I thought it would be interesting to do two fifty-one inch squares as a diptych. I kept the flow of the dark threshold moving through the lower portion of the panel and worked the upper half from a photo I found in my files. The dark threshold was too divisive so I softened it with the rush of snow flowing down the right side. The sky also became a bit more stormy and suggestive, not the bluebird day of Mystique. I think they would be amazing in the same space but maybe not side by side.  What do you think?
