Last Run

“Last Run” captures that fleeting, luminous moment when the world exhales and everything unnecessary falls away. Painted in my signature oil-on-metal technique, the work balances translucency and depth—light doesn’t just sit on the surface; it slips through it, refracting in ways only metal can allow.

This piece was inspired by the final descent of a winter day, when the last ribbon of sun pulls itself across the ridgeline before surrendering to blue shadow. In that brief shift, I feel the presence of those who have come before us—the quiet sense of passage, memory, and connection that nature reveals when we slow down enough to feel it.

Loose, dynamic brushwork creates a sense of motion, echoing the sweep of a skier’s final run or the last breath of daylight skimming over snow.
