Frost

I started this contemporary abstract painting with a shadow flowing loosely through the picture plane, then created the hatch-mark pattern with a spiraling fan feeling, overlapping the marks and moving the oil paint. The variety of light and shadow, and the grey palette gives it the feeling of frost on the window of an icy cold morning.
