Butterfly Wings

Painting with squeegees is interesting because one can move the paint around in very straight lines. I use them to follow the contours of what I feel the shape of my image to be. In this contemporary abstract painting I create movement with the hatch-marks; most originate from around the same place, like the wing of a butterfly. The color glaze moves over the undulating wing of this original oil painting.
