Poppies fly under the radar in the flower world. Here’s to giving some recognition to the overlooked flowers of the field.
This is a big one at 36″ x 48″. I started out with mostly red and cut in with the darker spray for the petal structure, then shot in the center of light. To find balance in the composition, I flipped the board upside-down and then sideways so my eyes would adjust to a “new” image. Errors are more easily resolved using this technique.
My mom always loved red and anything with an Asian flare. This one is for you, mom.
