I am always experimenting with different mediums and techniques to see how I can push my successful paintings/themes in a new direction. This is a real mix of techniques. Instead of pushing and scraping the paint to reveal the silver, I masked the areas I wanted to leave silver with tape and rubber cement, then painted over the whole surface of the panel. It was a bit of a mess but I rather like the organic shapes. I used a crosshatching technique to create the abstract plains of the road and sky and the hard edges completely contrast the suggestion of clouds and mountains.
