Switchbacks

Interstate Route 80 twists and turns on a monumental, mountainous slope. This contemporary mountainscape is the first of a series. The viewer careens down and through the mountains to the city below. The road tilts and curves while the steadfast wall of rock on the right is solid and unmoving. Angling the street lights accentuates the curve of the road in this original oil painting.
