Great, life changing events always happen for me in May! I was accepted to attend Parson’s School of Design in May, I was married in May, and this May, I have been invited to be a part of the brand new Summit Gallery on Main Street in Park City, Utah! It is a great location and will be in the space being developed where the Kimball Arts Center used to be, right across from Zoom. Mark your calendars for the grand opening, July 24th, 2018! The website link should be live shortly… The stable of artists will be limited to 18 so I will have a nice presence in the gallery and so far, out of 12, I am the only “local” artist! I am so grateful and honored to be a part of such a talented group!
My first triptych was so successful, I started the second one, (above), immediately! In person, these pieces are really large with lots of drips, splatters, scrapes, and texture, enveloping the viewer. Moonscapes are so mysterious and gazing at the moon is one of my favorite summer pastimes. I loved the idea of the mountains looking like what I imagine those mountains on the moon to be.
