Monster Flowers

cynthia mcloughlin 2015I have always loved children’s literature.  Reading time with my children when they were young is one of my most cherished memories.  Most of my favorite stories involve trolls, fairies, sprites, magical creatures and ordinary beings with extraordinary talents.  Roald Dahl was always my favorite and Quentin Blake’s illustrations are always marvelous!

One afternoon I had been doodling flowers and they started to evolve into little monster-type beings.  I like the playfulness of imagining what could be lurking beyond the  physical presence.

About Cynthia McLoughlin

I am an artist seeking inspiration from my surroundings whether it be hiking in the mountains or walking on the city streets. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, exploring different cultures and letting their influence flow through me into my work.
